Terranown

Privacy Policy

Effective August 3, 2026. Terranown ("we", "us") analyzes real estate parcels and turns public and licensed geospatial data into a report. This policy explains what information we collect through terranown.com and the Terranown application, how we use it, and the choices you have. Our Terms of Service cover the agreement itself.

Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: what you give us, what we generate from your use of the product, and what we look up on your behalf.

  • Account information. Email address and password (or your Google account identifier, if you sign in with Google) when you create an account.
  • Parcel and report data. The property address or parcel you search for, its boundary and location, and any documents you upload for analysis (for example, a title report or survey).
  • Billing information. Your subscription plan and credit usage. If we introduce paid plans, payment card details will be collected and processed directly by our payment processor — Terranown will never store your card number.
  • Usage information. Standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and request logs, collected automatically by our infrastructure when you use the site. We also use Google Tag Manager and the analytics tags configured in it to record how the site is used — pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, and the site or search that referred you.

How we use your information

  • To run the parcel analysis you request and generate your report, including the narrative summary.
  • To create and maintain your account, process credits, and manage your subscription.
  • To send you service messages — for example, confirming your report is ready or your password was reset.
  • To monitor, secure, and improve the reliability of the platform.
  • To respond to support requests you send us.

Third-party data sources and processors

Producing a report means querying public and licensed data sources — federal, state, and county agencies such as FEMA, USFWS, USDA, USGS, EPA, and county assessor offices — using the parcel location you provide. We also use third-party service providers to operate the platform, including cloud infrastructure for hosting and storage, a large language model provider to generate report narratives from the data collected, and Google, which provides the analytics that measure how the site is used. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose it if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Terranown, our users, or others.

Data retention

We keep account and report data for as long as your account is active, and for up to 90 days afterward to allow you to recover access. Documents you upload are retained with your account until you delete them or close your account. Some cached lookups of public data (for example, soil or floodplain records) are retained on our servers so future reports can reuse them and are not tied to your account.

Security

Connections to Terranown are encrypted in transit, and we host on infrastructure with access controls restricting who can reach it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Where your data is stored

Terranown is hosted on servers located in the United States, and your information is processed there regardless of the country you access the service from.

Cookies

We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your session, and we use Google analytics cookies to understand how the site is used — which pages are visited, and how visitors arrive. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell the information these cookies collect.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics on any site with Google's browser opt-out add-on. Blocking analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use Terranown.

Your choices

  • You can review and update your account information from Settings.
  • You can request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account and associated data, by emailing support@terranown.com.
  • Deleting your account does not remove data we are required to retain for legal, billing, or security purposes.

Children's privacy

An account requires you to be 18 or older (see our Terms of Service). Terranown is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. If we make a material change, we will notify account holders by email or an in-app notice before it takes effect.
